Pain Management

Qi is the vital substance that flows through the body's meridians that connect to all our major organs. Any kind of pain or illness represents a change/obstruction in the flow of Qi. Acupuncture can help unblock the meridians or restore balance and harmony to the body.

Acupuncture can be used during cancer treatment to relieve the side effects of chemotherapy and radiation. It can help with fatigue, nausea, reducing pain, stress, anxiety and more. Please see the main page for the direct link to the cancer protocol.

Low Back Pain

This type of pain is associated with the Urinary Bladder and Kidney Meridian. This is one of the most common conditions in our clinic. Low back pain can limit your daily activities making walking, standing or sitting difficult and limit your range of ability. Studies have shown that acupuncture has helped relieve low back pain. Acupuncture may successfully reduce your chronic or acute back pain in a reasonable time so you can resume your daily and sports activity with less or no pain, have normal sleep, and get off toxic pain medication or steroids.

The most common type is one with pain and traveling from the low back down the middle section of the back of the leg. This is called UB sciatica, because it is related to the Urinary Bladder Meridian pathway. If the pain goes along the frontal part of the leg, it relates to the Stomach Meridian energy blockage. If it travels along the outer side of the leg, it relates to blockage along the Gall Bladder Meridian. Acupuncture works well for this condition by unblocking the Qi in the meridian.

So, acupuncture is a safe, painless, effective form of health care that helps the body repair, maintain and keep balance by itself. We use fine, sterile, disposable, one-time use needles at acupuncture points on the body. This reorganizes energy, connects body channels and unblocks stagnation.

I am here to let you know that acupuncture is very effective. I regret that it was my last resort instead of my first. I spent much money, time and effort on other procedures and treatments that did not work -- not to mention pain and disappoint- ment I experienced.

Combined with Kathren's gentleness and wisdom, you would be amazed at how painless and relaxing acupuncture is. Most times, I was so relaxed I fell asleep.

I had a very intense challenge with sciatica. My patience was expiring and I was considering shopping for a wheel chair. I read an article in the newspaper about a lady who suffered with sciatica, but received tremendous results with acupuncture. She shared how she "got her life back" and was resuming normal activities. In searching for the best, I located Kathren whose expertise and credentials in administering acupuncture far surpass most.

Don't expect overnight relief, but surely expect eventual relief. I urge you to give it a fair chance.
